The Autocrat Social and Pleasure is a non-profit organization embarking on its 110^th anniversary. We are believed to be the oldest minority community organization in the City of New Orleans, being established in 1907.  The organization has contributed and enhanced the community through the leadership of its members and by offering cultural and enrichment programs to the disenfranchised.  The Autocrat’s main hall downstairs has served the community as a hub for civic and political issues, and civil rights meetings since the 1960s, as well as a site for social entertainment and cultural growth.  The members have consisted of many outstanding citizens in the trades, business, civic, political and professional life of the community and leaders in every walk life.  Our facility is considered to be an icon in the community.  It is used to promote social intercourse, harmony, enjoyment, refinement of manners and the moral, mental and material welfare of its members and the community.
